Inspirational Easter Bible Verses
These verses teach that there is no greater message than that Jesus Christ lives, He atoned for and then gave His life for our sins. Jesus Christ showed us the way to live and to overcome our trials and obstacles. These Easter Bible verses give me the strength to carry on when I feel that the weight of the world has been laid on my shoulders.
I would like to take the opportunity to share with you some of my favorite Bible verses that celebrate Easter.
“And the chief priests accused him of many things:…” Mark 15:3.
How many of us have been falsely accused or have had someone spread false gossip about us. The Savior was guilty of nothing yet he stood accused before the highest tribunal in the Jewish nation. If the only perfect person to ever live was wrongly accused there are none of us who will be able to completely avoid such falsehoods.
“And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.” Mark 14:36.
Jesus Christ fulfilled the Will of His Father. What humility and faith it took to follow the path that the Father had laid out for Him. How much more should we be willing to take whatever path the Father lays out for us, or whatever path we must take because of our family’s needs, no matter what our own desires.
“And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” Luke 44:22.
The greatest act ever performed for humankind was the atonement for our sins. The sacrifice performed in the Garden of Gethsemane, where the Lord suffered such pain for our sins that He bled from every pore. This great act allows all of us to become clean from our sins and return and live with Him again.
“And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.” Luke 22:50-51
“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do….” Luke 23:34
If we knew nothing else of the Savior these two verses would teach us one of His greatest messages. That is, that no matter what the situation we must and we have the power to forgive and turn the other cheek.
“He is not here: for he is risen,…” Mathew 28:6.
With this angelic declaration we learn of the Savior’s miraculous victory over death. As the first person ever to triumph over the grave he released all mankind from the terrible grasp of the grave, giving us the gift of immortality.
These are some of my favorite Bible verses for Easter. They teach us that no matter how difficult our lives may seem, we have the ability to rise above and triumph over our trials. Jesus also suffered, but in His suffering He showed us a better way. The way in which we can reach a state of happiness that will allow us to follow in His path and change our lives and the lives of all those that we influence, for the better.
