Living in undesirable areas and conditions is a common effect that any family undergoing poverty will have to face.
How poverty impacts family life
Poverty is not a good thing at all, for any family it has a greater dimension of effects that can ruin a family. No one would want to be poor and individuals will do anything to fight off poverty in their lives. Being poor has very deep impacts on family life, the following are some of the common effects that families will experience when poor.
1. Living in undesirable areas and conditions is a common effect that any family undergoing poverty will have to face. The lack of money in families will lead the family to live in areas that are poverty stricken and that have poor living conditions too. Living in such areas will often lead to the spread of infectious diseases like dysentery among others that will surface due to poor hygiene conditions common in these areas.
2. Lack of education in most cases children from poverty stricken families will miss out on the opportunity to be educated due to lack of school fees. This will lead to illiteracy among children who hail from poor families and as a result they will not be able to be gainfully employed in their adulthood years due to lack of education.
3. Bad habits will be developed by family members who come from a deprived environment, they will turn to bad habits like stealing, or drug and alcohol abuse in some cases the female members may turn to prostitution for survival. The morals of the family members will be ruined due to lack of self sustainability financially and lead to these immoral acts.
4. Bitterness and low self esteem is very common in people who come from poor family backgrounds, due to lack of money this will affect the family members emotionally and cause them to feel unworthy in society. Having a low esteem is very dangerous it can lead to suicides and many other ways of one destroying their own lives. The presence of bitterness and anger is not healthy for anyone to harbor, because this will hinder any positive progress for such a person who is coming from a poor family.
5. Lack of progress obviously the presence of money makes a difference in any family, but when money is lacking then there will be no chances or opportunities for such a family to move forward at all. There will be a stagnant wave that will hinder any progress in that family. Money does many things and it is therefore crucial for all families to have money and avoid retrogression in life.
It will be obvious that a poor family will lack joy and happiness, the members will tend to be more reserved or will often have anger outbursts caused by frustration. The family members may device illegal means of getting money which may make them end up in jail or dead.

In many rich household, affluent backgrounds and above all influential families, poverty reigns supreme because of false economy to ape the riches and wealth of the friend next door.
It is called competition wherein they take loans to make sure that they have the latest gadgets, latest car, latest clothes and have expensive parties and get togethers and then end up working doubly hard to repay the whole lot of it.
It is not that they are not educated rather they are egoistic wherein they fight to get only the best.
No doubt that attitude does mean that people would think they can sleep around, commit crimes like rape and murder, pay the cop off and get on with life because they can do it, only because they know the person in poverty is unable to buy their really required justice in life.
Think about it Richard Burton drank his money away and had Liz paying for his funeral despite being the most successful actor in Hollywood.
Think about those cancer victims who spend millions to save a member and get liquidated after their demise, isn't that too poverty??
Even victims of HIV are a load of expense wherein they have all the ailments under the sun which usually kills them before the AIDS claim them.
The above is not the only reason, broaden your view and research.
