How important is the word I Love You?
This is a very inspiring story. A story you shouldn’t miss to read until the end of each word. A story for everybody to realize how important our family is. A story how important the word "I love you" is to utter.
How important is the word I Love You?
A man wedded for 21 years was puzzled when one day her wife seriously talked to him. Her wife wanted him to take another woman. Yes, another woman and to take that woman out to dinner and watch a movie. His wife said, “I love you, but I know this other woman loves you also and would love to spend some time with you.”
The other woman that his wife needed him to visit was his own mother. His mother has been a widow for 19 years. The man does not have the time for her due to the burdens of his work and his three children had made it conceivable to visit her only intermittently. That night he called to invite her mother to go out for dinner and to watch a movie. “What’s wrong, are you alright?” she curiously asked.
His mother is the type of woman who distrusts that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a figure of bad news. “I believed that it would be pleasurable to spend some time with you,” he responded. “Just the two of us.” She thought about it for a second, and then said, “I would like that very much.”
That Friday after his work, as the man drove over to pick her mother up he was a minute uneasy. When he reached at her house, he spotted that she, too, appeared to be nervous about their date. She stayed in the door with her coat on. She had frizzled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to commemorate her last wedding anniversary. She glowed from a face that was as dazzling as an angel’s. “I told my associates that I am going to go out with my son, and they were fascinated, “she said, as she got into the car. “They can’t wait to hear about our date.”
They went to a restaurant that, even though not elegant, was very nice and peaceful. His mother took his arm as if she were the First Lady. After they sat down, the man had to scan the menu. Her eyes could simply read large print. Half way through the items, he raised his eyes and saw his Mom sitting there staring at him. A yearning smile was on her lips. “It was I who used to read the menu when you were small,” she said. “Then it’s the moment that you relax and let me repay the favour,” he answered. Throughout the dinner, they had a very happy conversation although nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other’s life. They talked so much that they even missed the movie. As they reached at her house later, she said, “I’ll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.” he agreed.
“How was your dinner date?” his wife when he got home. “It was especially nice. Much more so than I could have conceived,” he answered.
A few days after, to his surprise, her mother died of a massive heart attack. It occurred so suddenly that he didn’t have the possibility to do anything for her. Sometime later, he received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place he and his mother had dined. An attached note said: “I paid this bill in advance. I wasn’t sure that I could be there, I hope I could, but nevertheless, I paid for two plates – one for you and the other for your wife. You never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son.”
At that moment, he realized the importance of uttering in time the words, “I love you” and to give our loved ones the time that they be worthy. Remember that nothing in life is more valuable than our family. Bestow them the time they deserve, say the words they earn, because these things cannot be put off till some other time.
