Baking Soda, Cooking Soda or Meetha Soda (in Hindi) – is an off the kitchen shelf wonder that can make your cake rise and much more. Like banishing foul smells and making your hair soft. Read on ...

Uses of Baking Soda

Baking Soda, Cooking Soda or Sodium Bicarb – whatever you might call it, this fine, white powder is a boon. Not only does it make the cake or bead swell up but also does wonders to your hair, teeth and skin. To top it all, Baking Soda does not cost much at all.
No Stains
Be it your tea cup or coffee mug or your teeth – stains don’t stand a chance in front of Baking Soda. For stain-free cups just mix Cooking Soda with water and let it stay overnight. Wash off the next morning and see your cups in their original color. Put some Baking Soda on your toothbrush for whiter teeth.
Exfoliate & Clean
Cooking Soda makes a gentle exfoliation option for your face. You can cup your hand, take some Cooking Soda, add a few drops of water and apply the bubbling mixture on your face. You can soak your feet in a bucket of warm water with Cooking Soda thrown in for clean, happy feet.
In fact, you can apply Cooking Soda and water on the pimples for drying them.
Apply a little on your wet hair and rinse off for soft hair minus expensive conditioners. Remember to take just a little and rinse off well otherwise your hair will feel all sticky instead of soft.
Banish foul smell
Put some Baking Soda in the fridge, shoe rack or ashtray to take care of foul odor.
Toilet Cleaner
Not just toilets, Baking Soda works on unclogging drain pipes, cleaning carpets, curtains and cushions along with crayon marks too. Same holds true for greased pans, buckets, mirrors and walls.
Insect bites
Take care of insect bites and nappy rashes with this wonder Soda. Simply mix some Baking Soda in your baby’s bath water regularly. Your baby will feel less irritable and the rash will disappear too.
